Medieval Combat Society

About Us - Dancing

Dancing and chivalry is as much of a part of the medieval life as fighting and archery and therefore the Medieval Combat Society also displays aspects of courtly pursuits.

Courtly prowess from the Knights and Lady like behaviour were a major part of medieval life and the society takes great delight in reviving this aspect of the culture.

We provide a display of dancing which, although appearing effortless, is the result of a lot of training, practice and research. Most members find they gain as much pleasure from the medieval dances as they do from their time in combat.

Although the quantity of source material for music and dance from the 14th century is quite limited we always try to research and learn new dances as we find them and have fun doing so.
