Medieval Combat Society

The Medieval Combat Society was originally formed in 1970 and is a medieval reenactment group. The object of the Society is to have fun whilst entertaining the Public and generate an interest in medieval history. The society is based around the period of 1347 during the reign of Edward the third. We display a representation of a 14th century tournament with combat and archery. We also depict other elements of the period including dancing and also a full living history tented village with cooking, candle making, trading and other medieval crafts and activities. There are roles and activities for members of all ages within the group, noble men and ladies, squires and merchants, young upwordly mobile people of the age and not forgetting archers, men at arms and even peasants!
